Ah, the weekend!

It’s so close, we can almost taste it.

…Or maybe we’re just thinking about all the delicious food we got to enjoy from Cairo Cowboy today!

TGI…Food Truck Friday!

Owners Chrissy and Y.L. told Carson all about what inspired to them to start cooking on the streets:

After the two were married in 2009, they decided they wanted to open a restaurant, but they just couldn’t find the perfect location.

Luckily, timing was on their side because the food truck craze was just starting to heat up in Los Angeles.

Chrissy and Y.L. decided to take the plunge and start up a truck.  It was originally known as Kabob n’ Roll.

Their family-owned business was so successful, they decided to open up a brick and mortar version, but they switched up the name to Cairo Cowboy.

Chrissy and Y.L. have now changed the name of the truck to match, so if you see Cairo Cowboy rolling around on the streets, it serves all the Kabob n’ Roll food that you know and love!

The truck specializes in straight-up Mediterranean fare. In fact, many of the entrees are made from Y.L.’s mother’s secret recipes from their homeland of Egypt.

It’s so secret, even Y.L. and Chrissy don’t know all the ingredients to every dish!

Cairo Cowboy is committed to using the most healthy, fresh and authentic ingredients around, so you won’t find any preservatives or trans-fat in their food.

There’s also plenty of yummy vegetarian and vegan options available if you’re not a meat eater.

Carson’s favorite part about Food Truck Friday is that he gets to pick one loyal AMP Radio listener and reward them with a free lunch for their entire office.

Today, Nicole from Santa Monica was our big winner!

When’s your next chance to score some free grub? Each and every Friday, Carson invites a new truck into the studio, so there’s plenty of more opportunities to win!
