Cannon’s Countdown: Top Cities To Live For Recent Grads

Every day our man Nick Cannon covers off on the hottest music, movies and stars of pop culture. Come back each day for a list from Nick as part of Cannon’s Countdown.  What up, friends. So, I know a lot of you have recently graduated from college over the last few years and because of in-the-tank economy many of you have moms as a roommate. So, today, I have decided to send you a little help. According to AOL Jobs, there are 10 major cities that are ripe for young graduates. So, jump in, start planning and then packing!

10. St. Louis: The average one-bedroom in St. Louis will run you about $826. You can still afford the Ramen noodles for dinner… 9. Atlanta: ATL is always a cool spot to jump off a career. A one-bed room apartment will cost you around $813 a month. The party scene is pretty serious though. Beware! 8. Philadelphia: Mike Vick has set this city on fire once again! A one-bedroom apartment averages $1,068 a month. Get it now, if they win the Superbowl those rents may skyrocket! 7. Washington, DC: Since The Obamas hit the town, DC has transformed from the ghost town it used to be during the Bush years. A one-bedroom will set you back about $1679. 6. San Francisco: You can eat out every night in S.F. for years and never repeat a spot. They are serious about food there! And if you grab a job, you will need to budget about $1560 a month for rent. 5. Minneapolis: Its cold in winter yes. But, the job market for recent grads is hot. Plus, a one bedroom apartment will only cost you $941 on average. 4. Denver: Get a job and hit the slopes. Rent for a one-bedroom is about $994 a month. 3. Boston: With depictions in The Departed, The Town and The Fighter, Boston seems to be The Place. Rent for a one-bedroom will run you on average around $1625 a month. 2. Cleveland: Yes, it’s hot in Cleve (well, according to my girl Betty White) and you may land your next job there. A cool one-bedroom usually rents for about $695! 1. Hartford-New Haven: These two towns in Connecticut are great for recent grads. Rent averages about $1,047 and plus you are only a 45 min train from New York City!
