It’s Independence Day for all our friends south of the border, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t party rockin’ it up right here in the good old U.S.A.!
The gringos reading this right now might think that Cinco de Mayo is the big holiday, but on this date back in 1810, the Mexicans won their freedom from Spanish rule.
There’s plenty of celebrations going down this weekend and we’ve compiled a handy dandy list so you know where it’s gonna be crackin’!
Fiestas Patrias on Olvera Street
There will be plenty to do this weekend in the oldest part of downtown Los Angeles.
The celebration includes live music, dancing, carnival games, rides, and exhibit booths!
When: September 17-18, 10am-10pm
Where: Olvera Street Plaza, El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument
Fiestas Patrias in Santa Ana
Usually, more than 250,000 people attend this massive street party.
The event features 2 live entertainment stages for performances from local and international artists and ballet folklorico groups.
When: September 17-18, 11am-10pm, parade at 4pm on Sunday
Where: 4th Street from Broadway to Minter, Santa Ana, CA
Mexican Independence Day Celebration
The SouthBay Pavillion Mall has lined up a ton of great acts to celebrate, including Latino Comedian of the Year Rudy Moreno, the Mariachi Divas, y mucho más!
When: September 17, 12 noon

If you’re in the mood to dance, this is the place to be!
The MUCHO DJs will spinning the best Cumbia, Pop En Español, Electro Pop, Latin Indie, Baile Funk and Merengue music that’s bound to get you moving!
