[AMP Music Minute]Beyonce’s Baby Bump Hasn’t Slowed Her Down, Lady Gaga Stands Up to Bullies and Bruno Mars is Singing for Twilight
Even being pregnant can’t slow down [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beyonce[/lastfm]. Though she just released her third perfume Pulse, and is, oh yeah, pregnant, the “Best Thing I Never Had” singer isn’t bowing out of the music industry anytime soon.
While promoting her new scent this week, she mentioned plans to start her own record label, create a new boy band, and produce documentaries. We’re hoping giving birth is also on that list. Maybe while she is at it she could cure world hunger? I know it’s reaching, but c’mon, it’s Beyonce!
This is her latest video for her single “Best Thing I Never Had.” It’s pretty clear now that Bey gets what Bey wants. Watch the Throne, for real.
No stranger to activism, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] vowed to meet with President Obama to talk about making bullying illegal and classified as a hate crime. Sparked by hearing the news of a 14-year-old boy in New York who suffered a life of bullying that ended in a tragic suicide.
The boy had even posted an “It Gets Better” video explaining how Gaga was an inspiration to him to continue living through his hardship. Lady Gaga, fighting through her own anger and sadness about the tragic incident, tweeted his video and encouraged her fans and others to not stop fighting against bullying.
If you want to get involved, here is the link to the It Gets Better Project and MTV’s ongoing A Thin Line organization, which provides stories and resources for anyone who believes they are being cyberbullied or who is looking for ways to stop harassment by digital means.
Remember, it’s always okay to be exactly who you are, you were “Born This Way.”
