[photogallerylink id=70978 align=left]AMP favorites and LA natives, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Far East Movement[/lastfm] have plans to release the follow up to their debut album Free Wired at the beginning of 2012.
The group says they will get the album finished and to the label within the next two months, “After they give it a listen we’ll see where they want to take it — hopefully early 2012,” said Nish of the chart-topping band.
The sound for this album will feature songs that remind listeners of the dance-infused tracks from their first album but will also introduce sounds inspired by whats popular in the city right now. “We’ll have a few songs that show the hip-hop roots and the ‘Rocketeer’ style, and heavy synth dance tracks as well,” Nish continued, “But the majority of the album is going to be the L.A. dirty bass sound.“
And in order to test that sound out, the boys have a unique method planned, “To accentuate the bass,” Nish adds, “we bought an old school refurbished 1989 Cadillac limo. I used to install car stereos, so I’m going to hook up the system myself and we’re going to take all of our songs in this car and drive around in L.A. and vibe out.“
Unfortunately, the group is keeping tight-lipped on who will be featured on the new album, but they did reveal that they are working with super producer, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]David Guetta[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bangladesh[/lastfm], the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Stereotypes[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cherry Cherry Boom Boom[/lastfm], not to mention other new producers. And they are in talks with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lil Wayne[/lastfm] to “jump on a song,” Nish notes.
Just thinking about new music from Far East Movement makes me want to dance already!
