Fun fact about our morning show host, Carson Daly: To this day, he still has an AOL email account.
Each time he gets a new message in his inbox, the old school “We’ve Got Mail” sound effect rings and we all secretly chuckle about it.
Now, actor Paul Rudd says that AOL email is so uncool that it’s finally cool again.
So that got us wondering, what other outdated stuff is making a comeback?
If Paul Rudd says something is back in style, then you know it’s on its way up!
He told Playboy magazine:
People look at you as if you’re a fossil. Which you are. But I enjoy that embarrassment. I like being on the outside. Having an AOL address is like wearing Ocean Pacific shorts. It’s so uncool that it’s cool.
But Rudd isn’t the only celebrity that just won’t let go of AOL. Rumor has it that Tina Fey, Steve Carell, David Arquette, Sarah Silverman and of course our very own Carson Daly have all kept their old-school accounts.
Hmm…do you think there’s a correlation between AOL and comedians? The world may never know!
One of our loyal listeners chimed in with this suggestion and we have to agree.
Is there anything cooler than hoisting a ghetto blaster on your shoulder?

A boombox can change the world, well at least according to SNL’s [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Andy Samberg[/lastfm] and his [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lonely Island[/lastfm] crew!
The jury is still out on this one.
Some people enjoy the feel of physical Yellow Pages underneath their fingertips, but other would rather just Google whatever they need to know.
With sites like Yelp, is there really a need for phone books today or do you enjoy doing things the old-fashioned way?
