When something named Truck Norris rolls up to your office, you know it isn’t kidding around.
Yes, that’s right. We’re roundhouse kicking Food Truck Friday into high gear today with some Hawaiian Filipino fusion!
There’s only one way to find out!
Truck Norris has to be one of the most inventive names we’ve come across on Food Truck Friday. The brother/sister duo of Ronnie and Melissa explained to Carson why they named their truck in honor of the Walker, Texas Ranger action star:
It seems as though Ronnie was destined to get into the food business, just like Chuck was fated to kick butt and take names!
Ronnie has been cooking since the age of 6. He eventually started making food for various festival and got a really great response from his customers.
This inspired him to go to culinary school in Hollywood. He even graduated at the top of his class. (How very Chuck Norris of him!)
By then, the economy seemed a little shaky, so he and his sister Melissa decided that it would be a better idea to open a truck instead of a full-fledged restaurant.
It was easy to come up with food inspiration. Truck Norris specializes in Hawaiian Filipino fusion, with many of the recipes coming from their very own mother.
On the truck, they serve up entrees like garlic shrimp, sigsig tacos, and fan favorite, the Notorious R.I.B.
You may be wondering, how did they decide on the name Truck Norris? Well, from the get-go, Ronnie wanted something really memorable.
When his buddy pitched the punny moniker, they laughed so hard that they knew they couldn’t pass this one up!
Our favorite part about Food Truck Friday is eating all the food (DUH), but hooking you guys up with a free meal is a close second!
Congrats to today’s winner, Hilton from Los Angeles!
