[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry[/lastfm] can’t help but make good music, as apparent from her record breaking album, Teenage Dream. Whatever single she drops turns to gold and sometimes platinum, but it is almost always going to be a hit!
We hope she can keep it going with her new songs. According to one of the producers from her Teenage Dream album, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Tricky Stewart[/lastfm], Katy is back in the studio reworking some songs that didn’t make the cut for the album.
[photogallerylink id=114271 align=left]“Katy and I went into [the studio] just to address some issues with records that we had done in the past that didn’t end up going on Teenage Dream,” he told reporters. “So we are in the process of just listening and freshening up things and getting ready for something special she has going on.”
And while he doesn’t know exactly what the project is, he knows it’s significant to the singer, “I don’t know what it is, but I know she has something going on because she wants to be in the studio,” he said. “So that’s good. … I can tell you that Katy likes the studio again; that’s always a good thing.”
Though, Tricky couldn’t give details on the project, he did reveal the name of the song is called “Dressing Up,” he thinks it’s going to be her next big thing. “This song is really special. It’s called ‘Dressing Up,’ so it’s going to be a big record, I think,” he determined. “It definitely fits. It’s right there in what her sensibilities are as a musician and a songwriter. She doesn’t change much. She has a very keen musical taste. It’ll be really good.”
Well then give it to us! Sheesh! We will keep you posted on this track, until then, lets reminisce with old school Katy Perry!

The Roc Boys in the building! Mr. Mogul, father-to-be, and all around bidness-man, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jay-Z[/lastfm] went out of his way to publically congratulate his Roc-A-Fella signee, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]J.Cole[/lastfm] for debuting at #1 on the U.S. charts.
His album, Cole Wold: A Sideline Story, sold over 200,000 copies in its first week. With singles like “Work Out” and “Can’t Get Enough” featuring [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Trey Songz[/lastfm] burning up the singles charts, we should expect nothing less from the North Carolina native.
Jay released a press statement to share his kind thoughts:
“J. Cole’s success is testament to amazing artist development and Cole’s hard work… I want to congratulate him on a #1 album and more importantly a great body of work.”
Now, I don’t know about you, but if I was a rapper, getting the seal of approval/pat on the back from Hov is like the end all, be all. It’s like Santa Claus personally telling you that you’ve been a good girl or boy. It’s got to feel amazing. So hat’s off to the new kid on the block.
We hear he is already working on his next album. You can’t beat that work ethic! I… I work out!

[photogallerylink id=108776 align=left]This makes it official. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] has reached the sort of fame that not every female public figure has attained, but I bet they wished they had. Gaga, born Stephanie Germanato, is getting the Lifetime treatment.
That’s right, the cable network, famous for making television for women is developing a movie based on Mother Monster‘s life and rise to fame.
The working title of the film, “Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story” is based on her first album, The Fame. The story is based on the 2010 book by Maureen Callahan entitled “Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga.”
While Lady Gaga is not involved, the project seems to be building momentum at the network and may be green lit soon.
You can turn your nose up to this is you want, but we all know you will be watching with the rest of us. So pop some popcorn and gather the casting tapes. Who is going to play Lady Gaga!?
