What Classic Rock Band Might Make Lady Gaga Their Lead Singer?
Even if you don’t think you know any music by theatrical classic rock band, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Queen[/lastfm], you’ve probably heard songs like “We Are The Champions” and “Another One Bites The Dust” at sports events. Powerful pop diva, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm], has time and time again explained that her name is an homage to Queen’s song “Radio Gaga” and that Queen’s former lead singer, Freddie Mercury, is one of her idols.
At the MTV VMAs, Gaga’s male alter-ego, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jo Calderone[/lastfm], also performed with Queen’s guitarist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Brian May[/lastfm]. Does her performance portend interesting things? Like, say, the possibility of her being the new lead singer of Queen?
Brian May told NME that the idea is being considered:
We talk about going out on the road all the time but there’s a bit of a singer problem, to put it mildly. We get a lot of offers to work with other people. I worked with Lady Gaga and she’s very creative and is someone we’ve talked about singing, fronting the band with. She’s not just a singer, she writes her own material.
