The Doggfather continues his foray into the acting arena with his upcoming family sitcom. Yes, you heard me correctly, a sitcom about a family led by none other than [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Snoop Dogg[/lastfm].
[photogallerylink id=91402 align=left]The show was recently picked up by NBC after being developed by Warner Bros., Snoop, and producer Don Reo. Snoop and Reo have worked together on previous projects so their working relationship will hopefully help move this deal from the script to the small screen smoothly.
While the show has no current premier date, its been decided that Reo will write and executive produce the show, Snoop will act as the father in the series as well as produce and Ted Chung is billed as a producer on the show.
This news comes after Snoop accepted the part of pimp and bluesman Fillmore Slim in an upcoming biopic. Snoop is a king in California, he is an icon, and this is a great opportunity for the rap veteran.
He should have no trouble playing a dad, as he seemed to excel in the role during his reality TV run with the show Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood.
