[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]50 Cent[/lastfm] is not only a reformed bully but also a philanthropist. His maturity is soaring as is obvious from some of his latest projects. First the indie film “All Things Fall Apart” in which 50, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, plays a promising college football player on the pro-football fast track when a cancer diagnosis sidelines the star. 50 lost an astounding 80 pounds for the role.
Then there is 50’s brand new book, Playground, in which an older 50 writes that the main character of the book, a bully, is based loosely on his life and experiences. He goes on to say that he isn’t proud of that part of his life but did learn from it, and feels apologetic to all those he tormented back in the day.
[photogallerylink id=115696 align=left]Now, in sort of a capstone of maturity for 50 this year, his new energy drink Street King, has acted not only as a new health beverage, but also as a means to mobilize consumers to help out a good cause, like feeding Africa and fighting hunger, one meal at a time.
He recently announced a new initiative, in which for every “Like” Street King gets on Facebook, 50 will donate one meal for a child. His goal is to get one million in one week.
The “I Get Money” rapper seems to have no hesitation giving his money to a good cause, and that’s great to see.
To help the cause, go here and “like” 50’s drink. Feed a child, it’s that easy.
