After releasing her sexy yet tormented video for “We Found Love,” which depicts a sort of a Sid and Nancy, love addicted couple dancing the night away into decadence, Roc Nation first Lady, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rihanna[/lastfm] also revealed the name and idea of her newest fragrance, Rebelle.

You remember her first fragarance Reb’l Fleur asked takers to choose between the rebel and flower inside of them? Well, Rebelle makes it’s choice. The bold new scent from the Barbadian princess will be the first of two fragrances that don’t ask for a decision, but deliver answers and thus explores the duality of both Rihanna and those who choose the scent.

Rebelle is also the name Ri-Ri’s grandmother used to call her and is meant to explore the singers mysterious and sensual side. “My new fragrance is about taking control but still being a lady. There’s a feminine, romantic element to the fragrance — but there’s also a defiant quality in it,” Rihanna explains of the product, “I love its duality.”

The marketing aims to encompass her daring and dramatic aspects while maintaining her vulnerability. She aims to empower women as well as men. And this motif of strength shining through objects we see as weak pervades through every part of the scent. Even the bottle exemplifies the theme, Rebelle‘s bottle is inspired by the stiletto heel.  It features a twisting, crimson ribbon design topped by a golden layered red cap that again displays duality in a single object. Basically, it looks hot.

And it smells good to boot, it smells “Somewhat exotic and musky, the notes include coffee beans, amber and a hint of vanilla,” that sounds like a spring afternoon. I’m curious. Are you?
