It was only just a few weeks ago when a preggers [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dev[/lastfm] called into the morning show to promote her first solo album.

But the “In The Dark” singer has made the difficult decision to delay the release date for a second time.

Why, you ask? We’ll get you up to speed.

The Night The Sun Came Up was originally scheduled to go on sale September 20, but she explained to Carson why she pushed back the date the first time:

We moved it back because I added more music. I was just recently in the studio again with The Cataracs these past couple weeks.

Turns out she wants just a little more time to tweak things and the singer has now announced that fans can purchase the album early next year on January 10.

She told the blog ArjanWrites:

I didn’t want any of my fans to be upset but I knew that letting “In The Dark” grow a little bit would be a positive thing for the album and I knew that being able to add more records would be good for the fans as well – especially because I can’t really perform right now given that I’m seven and a half month pregnant. So it is kind of bittersweet.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dev[/lastfm]’s gotten a bit of flack about the 2nd setback, and she addressed all the haters on Twitter:

We hope it’s worth the wait…especially if we can expect more hits like “In The Dark!”

  • Are you disappointed that [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dev[/lastfm] has delayed her album again or do you think it will be even better now that she has some more time to work on it? Sound off in the comments!
