It’s no doubt that the political climate this year is confrontational at best. President Obama has just gotten deep into the swing of his campaign, while his Republican competition dukes it out for the top spot to be the challenger next November.
The media has always had a very important part in the campaign trail, and this year, conservative news network, FOX News is on alert because [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Adam Levine [/lastfm]doesn’t want them using his band’s music…ever again.
[photogallerylink id=109253 align=left]In a tweet motivated by the still unknown song or program, Levine sent an angry yet firm message to the network, “Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil [f—ing] channel ever again. Thank you.” In fact, he ended it cordially.
But that was not the end of it, in response, anchors on the channel Greg Gutfeld and Andy Levy fired back at the singer within moments of finding out about the tweets. Levy tweeted, “Dear @AdamLevine, don’t make crappy [f—ing] music ever again. Thank you,” while Gutfeld was less vulgar, “Dear adam, That’s not music,” he tweeted before going on a Twitter tirade of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Maroon 5[/lastfm] and Adam Levine jokes.
What’s more is that, days later they still played his song on the network. Of course by the anchors of Red Eye, Gutfeld and Levy’s show. No word yet if Levine is moved enough to seek legal action.
This just makes me wanna run down a hallway yelling “AAAWWWWWW, I’m telling!” Maybe that’s just me.
“Misery” by Maroon 5 …It’s fitting right?
[photogallerylink id=96184 align=left][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm] is not known just for her fiery, quick lyrics. Beyond being a “Monster” when it comes to feature verses, her Minajesty is a queen when it comes to style and fashion.
That’s why you shouldn’t be surprised to hear that Nicki has partnered with OPI Nail Lacquer to develop a line a nail polish. The 6-set collection will be out in early 2012. It consists of colors that seem to glow like the neon green or glitter like the silvery glitter polish, but they are all unique in their own ways and definitely draw a lot from Nicki’s styles.
Each polish will be named after or in homage to songs from her debut album, like the green I mentioned earlier is called “Did It On ‘Em” and the glitter tone is called “Metal for Life,” while the pink lacquer is obviously called “Pink Friday.”
Do you think you will be rocking Minaj polish? I feel like it’s inevitable that you’re swag will go through the roof, I’m not sure, but I can speculate. Try it out. Let us know in the comments!
“Moment 4 Life” by Nicki Minaj
When you’re first movie is a huge hit, like 8 Mile, and spawns one of the most epic movie songs ever, like “Lose Yourself” for example, you might want to make sure your next movie can at least hold a flame to the first one. For Slim Shady, his latest film, Southpaw is back on track, so we can hope for some more greatness.
[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Eminem[/lastfm] recently had to sideline this movie project, due to lack of funding.
[photogallerylink id=88148 align=left]In it, he plays a champion boxer who has to fight hard to return to his former glory after a tragedy. Sound familiar? According to Kurt Sutter, the screenwriter, “He’ll play a world champion boxer who really hits a hard bottom, and has to fight to win back his life for his young daughter. At its core, this is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy.”
And another metaphorical comparison that holds close to Eminem is the title, which refers to left-handed boxing, an anomaly of sorts. “I love that the title refers to [Eminem] being a lefty, which is to boxing what a white rapper is to Hip Hop; dangerous, unwanted and completely unorthodox. It’s a much harder road for a southpaw than a right-handed boxer,” Sutter continued. From top to bottom this picture screams Eminem.
Well this story isn’t exactly a sequel to 8 Mile, but “this is a continuation of the 8 Mile story, but rather than a literal biography, we are doing a metaphorical narrative of the second chapter of his life,” writer, Kurt Sutter told Deadline Hollywood.
Good news though, it’s back on. The director of the Academy Award winning gritty police drama, Training Day, has signed on and with MGM and Sony Distributing. Now there is a real team of people working together to get this movie to a theater near you.
I’ll be the one in the middle throwing the popcorn. Enjoy!
