North Carolinian and Roc Nation signee Jermaine Cole, better known to his audience as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]J. Cole[/lastfm] has not stopped the hustle train even a little bit since the release of his debut album this past September.
Cole World: The Sideline Story has spawned the hit singles “Can’t Get Enough” featuring [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Trey Songz[/lastfm] and the Kanye-sampled track “Work Out.” He already has plans to release a third single featuring [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Missy Elliot[/lastfm] called “Nobody’s Perfect.” You can say whatever you want about Cole but his work ethic is impeccable.
Even though his debut album has been out for just barely a month, Cole says he has plans to release his sophomore effort in the middle of next year, “June. End of June, maybe June,” he sold the interviewer tentatively.
So far the album contains songs that didn’t make the first album, “I don’t know how many, but I got songs that didn’t make the last album that are automatically going to make this one,” said Cole. If you haven’t checked out the album yet, get to it. For those that have, I think this spells good things for his next album.

This year’s Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night just got a little bigger as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] is now set to perform live at the nomination concert.
The televised event in which Grammy nominations are announced will be hosted by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]LL Cool J[/lastfm] and airs Wednesday October 30th at 7pm PT on CBS.
As of now, country star [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jason Aldean[/lastfm] is the only other performer announced for the night.
Lady Gaga can’t seem to stay away from these grand and national stages, showing off at the MTV VMAs as well. I wonder if she’ll show up in drag again.
I sure hope so!

If you planned on dancing in the dark to [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dev[/lastfm]’s debut album at the end of this year, then prepared to hold off of your dirty dancing because Dev has recently announced her first album, The Night The Sun Came Up, got pushed back to early next year.
Sending the announcement via Twitter, the pregnant ”Bass Down Low” singer tweeted, “My loves. New music, more music. New release date 1-10-12 its f***in tight!! I’m just really trying to go innnnn.”
And go “innnn,” she will. While the specific reason for the later release date is unknown, Dev did insinuate that she will be adding to the album, later tweeting: “Its not sad news for my fans that the album is pushed back, they’re getting more music then just 12 songs. So suck it blogs!!!”
Well, if that’s the case, please, take all the time you need. We’ll be in this corner, waiting patiently…or dancing seductively to “In The Dark.” Either way, it counts as waiting.
