Every aspect of the show was entrancing, from the set pieces to the rapport Miller had with his crew, especially long time collaborator and DJ, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]DJ Clockwork[/lastfm]. The night was accented by the fact that his new album debuted at No.1.
Mac had his Most Dope crew represent Pittsburgh in full force with a painting of the blue slide projected behind him and real park bench in the middle of the stage. Mac took a moment to comment on how much his show’s have evolved, ” I wanted to step the shows up to another level,” he told the crowd before he had his hype man bring him his “secret weapon.” The secret turned out to be that Mac Miller can wail on the guitar a little bit!
Starting with the classic intro riff to “Sweet Home Alabama,” Mac also strummed to “Thugz Mansion” by the late [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Tupac Shakur[/lastfm], and closed with a sing along to [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Weezer[/lastfm]‘s “Say It Ain’t So.” Miller showed off is musical prowess and eclectic ability to sing, play instruments, and play the guitar behind his head.
