[photogallerylink id=113463 align=left]Seems there is a little bad news for Young Money fans. According to an interview with XXL Magazine, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Drake[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lil Wayne[/lastfm] have scrapped their forthcoming collaboration album.
Their main issue for canceling the album is that they wish to not compete with or be compared against [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jay Z[/lastfm]’s and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kanye West[/lastfm]’s platinum-selling Watch The Throne album. “Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album,” Draketold the magazine. “We just agreed that it would be looked upon as…It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne].”
There is a silver lining here though, a few in fact. The album isn’t necessarily in the trash, just off the table for now. “I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype.” Drake said and Weezy concurred, “We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.'”
Fair enough. In the meantime, Drake has decided to spend a concerted amount of effort on his collaborative mix tape with the boss, Rick Ross. The tape, entitled Y.O.L.O (You Only Live Once) has been halted temporarily since Rick Ross’s health scare but it hasn’t stopped Drake from keeping the train rolling. “We haven’t really connected because he’s been going through this thing with his health. I’ve been stashing my little beats and verses. I don’t have a drop date for it or a time for it. To be honest, its something I just really wanted to pop up out of nowhere.”
I suppose we should just ‘Take Care’ until the time is right, Young Money‘s heartbreaker, Drake drops his sophomore effort officially on November 15th, Get into it.
