Twitter has become quite the news source as of late. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kid Cudi[/lastfm] took to the social media outlet with all the fury he could muster up to update the world on his upcoming project with frequent collaborator and band mate, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]DotdaGenius[/lastfm].
First, he announced that his band will no longer be called [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]2beContinuum[/lastfm], but [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]WZRD[/lastfm], short for Wizard, “News update!,” Cudder tweeted “Me and @DotDaGenius are no longer called 2 Be Continuum. The world will call us W Z R D, which is short for WIZARD.”
Further, Mr. Rager gave us a release date and some of what to expect on the upcoming project, “And heres the biggest news, the official release date will be January 30, my birthday. Had to push it back to get the proper time to mix and master, want it to sonically be where it needs to be,” Cudi continued on his Twitter-nouncement, “For your smoke sesh enjoyment!”
“Also, the WZRD album does not contain any profanity or the usage of the word “n***a”. A universal album for everyone,” he hailed.
Unfortunately not all his fans were excited about this new direction Cudi is heading in, being a “clean” rapper and all, so Kid had to address the naysayers on his Twitter-rant as well. Haha man some of yall really upset theres no profanity?? You know songs can be written with out them right? Some of yall listen to so much ignorant shit that thats all you know or are accustomed to. My fans are smart, I know yall better then this,” he concluded.
So, expect a new Kid Cudi album under the monker, WZRD, and expect some family-friendly, albeit ganja-smoking sounds at the beginning of next year!
Cudi and Dot will release a snippet of their new sound as soon as it finishes mixing. “Oh also, @DotDaGenius and I have decided to release Dose of Dopeness for free. Mixing next week. For you! :),” Cudi tweeted the next day to quell fans desire for his new music.
2012 is going to be one epic year for album releases. I can bank on that!
