[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lupe Fiasco [/lastfm]has been a political activist long before taking the stage and rocking mics across the globe. In fact, in a recent interview on Last Call with Carson Daly, Fiasco said he felt like the more politicized his music became, the more he grew into the family business. As if being a “revolutionary” was “in our DNA,” he said.
Needless to say, the revolutionary rapper has always had issues with authority and this past week, the same was true. Lupe was detained for a short while at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) over some unidentified piece of technical equipment that was not allowed on the plane.
[photogallerylink id=118240 align=left]An agitated Lupe took to twitter to let off some steam about the situation, “WOW…Fresh outta handcuffs @ LAX,” Lupe Tweeted only hours before a show in Rhode Island. He continued his tirade, but tried to stay light and level headed given the medium, “Airport PD officer was just doing way too much,” Lupe tweeted. “Even OD’d on TSA…let the arrest get before the CHARGES. We good tho…#TimeForPrivateJets, ” he joked.
“Shout to all the good airport cops and TSA folks…don’t let the bad apples spoil the bunch!!” Lupe said on Twitter before taking the stage in Rhode Island. Luckily he wasn’t charged with anything and released in time to make his flight and still make the show on the East coast.
Sounds like drama!
