When you are someone like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry[/lastfm], you are someone that is also awesome. Katy proves this time and time again by doing awesome things. Let’s list some so you get the idea. Free concerts for fans, cute named fragrances (Purr, Meow), hosting SNL, marrying Russell Brand, you get it! Let’s add this to the list, shall we: staring in a Broadway show!
[photogallerylink id=130007 align=left]According to movie mogul and producer, Harvey Weinstein, who is responsible for Broadway shows like “Billy Madison: The Musical” and “The Producers,” he thinks Katy Perry would be perfect for the part of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Marilyn Monroe[/lastfm] in the movie turned musical. That is, if the movie works, of course.
“If the movie works, I would try to make it a musical and I would go to Katy first. I think she can play Marilyn on the Broadway stage… I think she would be amazing,” Weinstein told reporters.
In fact, Katy is so tied to this film and story already that Weinstein credits some of the box office success to Katy even though she isn’t in the movie.
The trailer featured a remix of Katy’s latest, “The One That Got Away” and when she tweeted out the news suddenly there was a boost of activity around the movie. “Katy posted about it on her Twitter and Facebook (accounts) and the next thing you know 250,000 people have downloaded the trailer in an hour,” he added.
Well I vote ‘Yes’ on the musical.

[photogallerylink id=105514 align=left]Brit Brit has a number of daily challenges being a mother and touring pop star all at the same time. But what does [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm] consider her most challenging activity of the day? We bet you can relate. It’s working out!
She tells Stylist Magazine that her biggest daily challenge is “trying to get up and go work out in the morning.” She adds, “I haven’t worked out in, like, two weeks. Sometimes it’s hard to be motivated. But once you get up and do it you feel like you’ve conquered the world.”
I can attest to that!
Still, Britney is one of the biggest pop icons of the last generation and she sometimes can’t make herself get her daily cardio in. Certainly puts some things in perspective. But that’s not all.
Britney is also focused on career and life challenges. She says her dream on stage collaboration would have to be with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gwen Stefani[/lastfm]. We second that!
And as for life goals, Britney wants in on a skydiving trip. Darn! She should have gone with McCabe!
Next time, Brit, next time.

[photogallerylink id=132463 align=right]Last week, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Guetta[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Nicki Minaj[/lastfm] kicked off the American Music Awards with a performance of their new song “Turn Me On.” Luckily, the electric, sexy, hyped up dance track is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Guetta-Minaj collaborations.
Apparently the two have amazing chemistry and have a video planned for the new song which premiered live at the AMAs. In regards to the music and the visuals it seems Guetta just expects Nicki to always bring the heat, so to speak, “She always comes with the crazy ideas,” he said. “So it’s very exciting.”
The two tweeted back and forth teasing the video to fans, Guetta wrote first,
“We are shooting our video with @NICKIMINAJ tmw. It’s gonna be sick! #nbtb #TurnMeOn.”
In response, Nicki tweeted simply, “Can’t wait David! Love u!!!”
Awww. I can’t wait either!
The song, which appears on Guetta’s new album, Nothing But the Beat, should be on a TV or computer screen near you in the coming months.
