Adele has been riding the recovery train every since her vocal chord surgery, keeping quiet, letting her voice and throat heal but still making time to reach out to fans via her blog and, of course, merchandising (the UK Diva recently released a Live DVD of her performances at The Royal Albert Hall- check the preview here!).
[photogallerylink id=115721 align=left]But Adele has a little more than just not talking to worry about when it comes to her voice strength. The UK singer persists that her vocal issues have never had anything to do with her love for cigarettes but it seems the singer has had to quit them for the betterment of her sound.
Not very rock star of her, if you ask me, but between medical professionals and people with good common sense, it seems obvious that what’s best for your throat is to not inhale known combusted carcinogens on a regular basis. But just because it makes sense doesn’t mean it’s easier for Adele to give them up.
“If I wasn’t a singer I still would be smoking 25 a day,” she reportedly said. “Smoking is my favorite thing to do in the world, I am gutted I have had to give up. But I have been tough – no patches, no gum, no hypnotism. It f—ing sucks.”
Well, we at AMP can’t wait for her return, even if we can’t share a cig with her afterwards.
Maybe she just needs a new hobby?
