The “Without You” singer decided a few years back that he was better off without ex-wife Tameka Raymond, but [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Usher[/lastfm] can’t and won’t be able to do without his two children, Usher V and Naviyd Raymond. Thus is the basis for the ensuing legal battle between Usher and Ex, Tameka.
[photogallerylink id=126507 align=right]The former Mrs. Raymond recently filed for sole custody of their two children citing that Usher has repeatedly broken the terms of their co-parent agreement, which were settled when the divorce was finalized in 2009. She strongly believes that Usher is compromising the children’s safety while they are in his care.
The impending court date was set for yesterday, November 30th. According to court documents, Usher has repeatedly not obtained permission from Tameka when taking the children out of state and she claims he disallowed custody of the children during Christmas 2010. This on top of the $34,000 she says Usher owes for nanny services. But this is just the beginning of the lawsuit against Usher.
Tameka is also seeking more money from the international pop/R&B singer, As in more in child support, of course. She refers to Usher’s “substantial change in income” as reasoning, i.e. “Without You” is blowing up the charts. Though she remains that her children’s safety is the main purpose for the legal fight, Tameka is also seeking her Saks 5th Avenue Card to be reactivated.
Her attorney, Lisa West, had this to say: “Ms. Raymond desires nothing more than for Mr. Raymond to have a relationship and spend quality time with their two children as consistently as possible,” West tells reporters “She, however, has never been willing to sacrifice their children’s safety and welfare in her efforts to forge such a relationship and has vigorously fought to ensure the children are reared in a stable home environment.”
We will keep you posted. We hope they can sort this out quickly, quietly, and neatly, if for no one else but the children. Can’t we all just get along?
