Today is the last Food Truck Friday for a few weeks since Carson is taking off for the holidays, so we decided to go out on a high note with an old fashioned waffle breakfast!

But these aren’t just any waffles.

Today, we got all fancy with LA food truck, Waffles de Liege!

Co-owners George and Lawrence made the trek over to AMP Radio early this morning to show Carson what they’re all about. Take a listen:

Waffles de Liege, which launched in March of this year, is the first truck in SoCal to specialize in Liege waffles.

Quick culinary lesson for those who aren’t familiar: Liege is a special type of Belgian waffle that you don’t normally find here in the States.

If you’ve had a Belgian waffle, you’ve most likely eaten the Brussels variety.

What sets the Liege waffles apart from the rest is the rich, sweet dough. The Waffles de Liege crew makes the dough fresh from scratch every morning, so forget those frozen Eggos you have lying around at home!

Temperature control is also super important so that the waffle stays crispy on the outside and warm on the inside!

The waffle itself is so sweet, you don’t even really need any toppings on it, but Waffles de Liege has all sorts of spreads, syrups, and fresh fruit at the ready.

Carson loves to spread the Food Truck Friday cheer all throughout the land, so today, he picked Christina in Los Angeles for a free office lunch catered by Waffles de Liege! Congrats to her and all her coworkers!

We’ll be reinstating Food Truck Friday after the New Year, so stay tuned for your next chance to win!

If you’re in the mood for some waffles, find out where Waffles de Liege is headed by checking out their website and following them on Twitter.
