Celebrities have the option of spending the holidays anywhere they want, many choose to take the time to stay close to their hometowns and visit with family. Often they give back to the communities that raised them.

The world traveling, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] earned a whopping 90 million this year in album sales and of course touring and appearances all over the world. So this year, she’s decided to take in Christmas, Japanese style.
The New York native recently sat down with MTV News and informed them that her holidays would be spent in Japan this year, “Well, I’ll be in Japan right up until Christmas Day,” Gaga told MTV. “So I’ll be eating with all my Japanese Little Monsters. I like shabu shabu,” she said.
Since Gaga has been in the far East, she received news that her duet with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Elton John[/lastfm], which was featured in the animated picture “Gnomeo & Juliet” had made it to the short list of Oscar category, Song of The Year.
So far her celebrating seems to include chilling with locals and eating really well. “Sipping tea in Japan with Haus. Feeling so grateful,” Gaga tweeted. “We sold about 1 million albums a month worldwide since the release of BORN THIS WAY.”
Well we’ll sip tea to that too!
