AMP Music Minute Year In Review: T.I., Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj (page 2)
[photogallerylink id=130244 align=right]It seems like for every good thing that happened to [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jennifer Lopez[/lastfm] this year, something equally bad came up to bite her in the butt.
This year marked Jenny’s comeback from a long departure to music with her album Love?, which she began recording in 2009 and is clearly her most personal album yet. The album peaked in the Top 10 and sold 83,000 in its first week. The singles “On The Floor,” “I’m Into You,” and “Papi” have all made their way around a dance floor or two and that’s nothing to shy away from.
J. Lo cemented her position as pop culture royalty by becoming the face of multiple brands, like Fiat and Kohls. Not to mention her sustained relationship with L’Oreal. She also started working on her greatest hits album, something that she should be proud of, as many people never rack up enough hits to later compile them.
But while Jenny from the block was nailing down her financial investments for the future, her relationship with husband, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Marc Anthony[/lastfm], was falling apart. It quickly became clear that the two couldn’t salvage the relationship which brought a set of twins into the world.
The couple first broke on amiable terms and all seemed okay. But soon J. Lo was dating a 20-something back up dancer and gifting him nice expensive cars, which apparently drove Marc insane because a story broke that he was suddenly going to fight to get custody of their children, a matter that had already been settled months ago.
Lopez has been on the road and working on her Fox show all year long. It’s too early to tell what her next move is, but we know she will be able to pull it all together and make the best of it. We’re rooting for you, Jenny!
