AMP Music Minute: Dr. Dre Peeves PETA With Furry Phones, Jay-Z Features His Baby Girl On “Glory” Track And Nicki Minaj Eyes Vogue Cover

Beats by Dre have become the quintessential mark of listening to music that sounds good. No matter what the music is, Beats promise crisp, clear, studio quality sound in every pair or traditional, wireless or ear bud headphones. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] has also stood by the style of his high end headphones and this time, that’s exactly what’s getting him in trouble.

[photogallerylink id=133407 align=left]His newest line, which he designed with Oscar de la Renta are covered in fox fur, which has animal rights group PETA up in arms and ready to throw down if Dre doesn’t rethink his expensive line of headphones.

The group sent an open letter to the music mogul about the headphones his partner in design, la Renta describes as covered “in luxe silver fox.”

Michelle Cho, a PETA official signed the letter that urged Dre to “keep fur and exotic-animal skins out of your Beats by Dre designs.”

After describing the heinous ways in which animals are treated to get to their fur, they even reference an Eva Mendes hosted video that goes further into the gory details before trying to appeal to his business sense in claiming that other designers are being successful and not hurting animals to do so.

“With so many fashionable, cruelty-free materials available these days, we hope that you will keep animals in mind and choose not to use fur or exotic skins in your collection. You’d be joining designers such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Bouwer, and Vivienne Westwood, who have banned fur from their designs,” she writes.

Dre has yet to respond. But as a puppy lover, I must say, they make a few valid points.

Also, fur on your headphones? That’s not even necessary, especially for the $695 price tag that they are pushing them off for.

[photogallerylink id=139388 align=right][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blue Ivy Carter[/lastfm] is only about 2 days old and already the hip hop princess is making waves on music tracks. Her famous father, Roc-a-fella Records CEO, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jay-Z [/lastfm]couldn’t hold in his joy any longer and made a song about the newest addition to his family called “Glory.”

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Neptunes[/lastfm]-produced beat takes a backseat to Jay’s emotionally-driven lyrics that reveal [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Beyonce[/lastfm] once had a miscarriage and cleverly calls his new daughter a “child of Destiny.”

“Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/ We was afraid you’d disappear/ But nah baby you magic,” he raps.

A truly overjoyed Jay just keeps it coming with beautiful rhymes that paint him a happy camper these days, “The most amazing feeling I feel, words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real/ Baby, I paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you,” he flows.

But the real treat of the new song is that it’s interspersed and then ends with the subtle coos and cries of brand new baby, Blue Ivy Carter, who goes by B.I.C., around the blogs now that she’s been featured on her first song and all.

We’re pretty sure that she is the youngest person to record a track now. We knew she was going to be a star.

Check the track below!
