Violinist Covers Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy”

Yesterday, Carson brought Surfer Stephen and me into the studio to get an opinion on a video he found on YouTube.

Little did he know it would start another morning show debate!

So what was the hot  issue? We’re arguing over pop song covers: hot or not?

Here’s the video in question. It was posted back in 2008, but Carson only recently came upon this violinist covering the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gnarls Barkley[/lastfm] hit, “Crazy.”

Would you turn around your big red chair for this guy?

Carson and I thought it was a pretty awesome version and we agreed getting music like that out in the world only promotes the arts.

But of course, Surfer Stephen had to rain on our parade!

He said classical instrument covers of pop songs are so overdone and boring. Furthermore, he argued that “Crazy” wasn’t a good song to show off that violinist’s talents!

Oh no he didn’t!

Take a listen to our debate:
