[photogallerylink id=82880 align=left][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lil Wayne[/lastfm] is becoming quite the mogul. The Young Money President is set to release a prison memoir that documents his time on Rikers Island, as he promised to do once before.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Grand Central Publishing will release the book, “Gone Tll November,” which is a compilation of the diaries he kept during his eight months in jail in 2010. The book details the people he met, his views on the future, past, and family.
Apparently the publishers are glad to be a part of the project and speak very highly of Weezy F. “We are thrilled to be publishing Wayne’s prison memoir,” said Ben Greenberg, executive editor at Grand Central Publishing. “He kept detailed journals of his inner and outer life while he was on Rikers Island, and they certainly tell a story. They are revealing.”
Expect to see this on bookshelves on November 28th.

For about a year now, people have been debating the similarites between [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm]’s 2011 song “Born This Way” and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Madonna[/lastfm]’s 80’s hit “Express Yourself.” Well ABC’s “Nightline” decided to stop cutting corners and went right to the source when they interviewed Madonna about her thoughts on Gaga.
When asked about Gaga she revealed, “I certainly think she references me a lot in her work.” Then continued on to say, “And sometimes I think it’s amusing and flattering and well-done.”
She explained her experience when first hearing the song in question, “When I heard [‘Born This Way’] on the radio … I said, ‘that sounds very familiar’ … It felt reductive.”
[photogallerylink id=138340 align=left]When asked if “reductive” was a good or bad thing she shortly responded, “Look it up,” so clearly there is still some tension there.
But it wasn’t all tense talk of idea borrowing, because Madonna did give due props to Lady Gaga calling her “a very talented artist” and suggested that Gaga provides a reimagining of her own legacy. “[She’s making a] statement about taking something that was in the Zeitgeist, you know, 20 years ago and turning it inside out and reinterpreting it.”
As for kissing Spears, Aguilera or Minaj ever again, it seems pretty doubtful. “Nice moment, good kisser. Cool,” she said of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm] and the VMAs but as for a redo, she says, “I don’t like to repeat myself.”
You can see Madonna live on the Super Bowl half time show on February 5th, 2012. Her new movie “W.E.” opens nationally two days before that on February 3rd.
And on the controversy, give a listen yourself.

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry[/lastfm] has been quite elusive ever since announcing her split with hubby, Russell Brand. After ducking out of the People’s Choice Awards, her first scheduled appearance after the break up, we didn’t expect to hear from her for quite sometime. Besides some shows in Indonesia and the Philippines later this month, her schedule seems pretty clear through the beginning of this new year.
[photogallerylink id=135739 align=right]But then, when she thought no one was really paying attention, a fan of hers spotted her on the set of an Adidas commercial. Donning brand new blue hair, and an American inspired tracksuit, Perry took the time to take a photo with Eric Berlanger, who then put the pic online sending it viral within hours.
“It was great to see her. I met her a couple times before,” Berlanger told reporters, “I am a big fan! She was great, really nice. She seemed happy.”
Other than that, she’s still trying to settle back into public life. We hope she transitions through this rough patch as smoothly as possible. We’ll keep listening for her.
