In probably the least surprising news of the year, celebrity chef Paula Deen announced she’s been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
But is this really shocking? She’s based her entire career on cooking fattening foods.

Paula made the big announcement on Today, where she also revealed that she just signed a multimillion dollar deal to be a spokesperson for the new diabetes drug, Victoza.
She tried to defend her butter-centric style of cooking, claiming she’s always encouraged her fans to eat her food in moderation.
But is it fair to build an empire off cooking this way and in the meantime, you know you’ve had this disease for 3 years?
That’s what got fellow celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain into a tizzy. He blasted Paula on Twitter, implying that her announcement was a strategic move to make more money:
