The latest news about ex-marital couple, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Katy Perry[/lastfm] and Russell Brand seems to be a little scandalous. Multiple sources are reporting that Russell has been working on his memoir series again, which began in 2009, and they say he plans to include all the juicy details of his former marriage and break-up.
A source close to the British comic says “He wants to tell his side of the story,” explaining what the book will focus on, “The book will cover his married life, the breakup and moving on. And I don’t think he plans on keeping the breakdown of the marriage a secret. Pardon the pun, but Russell is an open book.”
But its clear from her silence and scarce appearances that Katy doesn’t want the whole world knowing what went on between her and Russell. “There’s definitely stuff she doesn’t want out there,” one source claimed.
And while Russell’s camp is denying the rumor, his publishers say he owes them a book! “Russell felt it was a good time to start putting material together,” the source claims. “For the past few months, he’s been recording audio notes on his phone and documenting his feelings and experiences on video camera.”
Well our guess is the “last few months” have been a pretty rocky time for the punk-styled Brit, so how could the book be about anything else?
Russell’s memior series, “My Booky Wook” currently has two editions, the first: A Memoir of Sex, Drugs and Stand Up, and the second: This Time It’ Personal.
There is currently no release date for the upcoming 3rd book, but AMP, as always, will keep you posted!

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Foster The People[/lastfm] are the biggest new thing to come out of LA this year. Their ironic pop hit “Pumped Up Kicks” shot to the top of the charts and has been played on just about every kind of radio station that exists. The song has got them stage time on all the late night talk shows and even Ellen! So it’s crazy to think the song was never officially released.
Cubbie Fink, the bands bassist, offered some insight into just how we got to hear and know their first and biggest single to date.
“It [Pumped Up Kicks] was never officially released,” Fink affirmed. “We were a brand-new band and that was the only song we had completed, and so we put it up on our website to download, and from that it had a life on its own. It was tossed around on the internet, and people would blog about and it ended up on [music blog aggregator] Hype Machine, and radio just naturally picked it up. First independent radio stations started playing it, and then mainstream radio stations started playing it, and it was just gradually growing.”
So within weeks we went from never hearing of Foster to having their song stuck in our head for the last few weeks (or maybe that’s just me). Still, their success at this point is undeniable. “Kicks” is a great song.
We hope their next single not only gets a proper release but reaches the success of their first. We know it’s a lot of pressure, but the talent is there.
