[photogallerylink id=138340 align=left][lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] is a master of social media. She’s proved it time and time again by using the internet and social media to reach out to her little monsters. This time, she’s teamed up with an IT big leaguer in Google CEO Eric Schmidt to invest in Blackplane, a new social network for celebrities that’s aimed at making it easier for them to get in touch and stay in touch with fans.
Gaga, her business manager Troy Carter, and their team are at the helm of this new project, of which Gaga is a 20 percent share holder. According to the New York Times, Backplane has already raised $1 million in funding from investors, including Lady Gaga and Eric Schmidt, who invested through his investment fund, Tomorrow Ventures.
The product aims to “blend technology and entertainment and plans to provide a venue for online communities by combining brands’ various social media presences into one platform,” according to TechCrunch.“Backplane will provide a platform and tools for communities to socialize and communicate on a more focused level.”
This isn’t the first time Lady Gaga has worked with the masteminds behind Google. She also starred in a commercial for Google Chrome.
We are pretty curious to see how this Backplane thing will pan out. AMP will keep you posted!

R&B crooner and Virginia native [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Trey Songz[/lastfm] is about to embark on a 19 show, 2 month tour called the Anticipation 2our. But before he gets deep into tour mode he wants to be able to give fans his 5th studio album, Chapter V, which he’s finishing up right now.
“I’m finishing the album now, actually,” the “Bottoms Up” singer told Billboard, but insisted that he was already thinking about touring. “I’m currently in Miami, and I have one more week until [tour] rehearsals, so that’s when I switch to full ‘tour mode’. The tour’s been very prevalent in my mind, but the record and making sure the album’s complete have been on my mind as well.”
[photogallerylink id=74522 align=left]While Trey doesn’t have an exact time frame for the album’s release, he does think this album offers something different that his previous albums haven’t, but still taps into the things his fans have come to expect from him. “I’m definitely trying to leap forward with every album, and with this album, I think it’s a leap forward and a leap into the past,” he said. This album overall should offer the total package, ”I want to embody in this album — this fifth album, which is very monumental for me — what I am, where I came from and where I’m going. I… just think it’s going to be a very fluent, very diverse yet very cohesive album.”
No doubt he’ll be performng his hits like “Say Aaah” and “Bottoms Up” from his 2010 release Passion, Pain & Pleasure, but also his singles from his 2011 EP, Inevitable. AMP will likely be hooking up some lucky listeners with tickets. Keep checking for updates on how to win tickets from AMP!

It looks from the video that you are more likely to find yourself in a scene from Hostel or Saw than a Nicki Minaj or David Gueta video. But the super scary imagery in the video incites a thrill in us that we weren’t expecting from this song.
When the first thing you see is a lady in fresh heels dragging a rusty ax behind her, what more can you draw from that?
The countdown begins! Enjoy the tease!
And you can see the full video tomorrow when it debuts right here on AMP!
