For many of us, the mere thought of Valentine’s Day makes us cringe because we don’t have a special someone to share the day with.
But don’t sweat it…there are tons of things we can all do on February 14th even if we’re not romantically attached. Sometimes, that makes the holiday even more fun!
So all you single ladies (and single men), we present to you the top 5 things to do on Valentine’s Day if you’re riding solo!
Take A Hike
Here in SoCal, odds are Valentine’s Day will be sunny and gorgeous, so why not hit up one of our gorgeous hiking trails?
The exercise will get your endorphins going, which will keep you feeling good for hours. Plus, if you choose a popular one like Runyon, it’s a goldmine for physically fit hotties!
Go To A Speed Dating Event
It can be totally awkward going on a first date with someone you hardly know, so play the field at a speed dating event!
They’ll set you up at a table where you get to meet tons of singles. You get 5 minutes with each potential match and then it’s onto the next one!
That way, you get to know a ton of people all at once and decide with whom you have the best chemistry.
Have A Movie Marathon
We often joke that February 14th is actually Singles Awareness Day, so it seems like no better time to gather up all your single friends for an old-fashioned movie night!
Personally, we’re suckers for chick flicks like Dirty Dancing and When Harry Met Sally, but you could also do a 180 and opt for an horror movie night if you’re over the whole happy ending routine!
Create & Destroy A Burn Box
Alternatively, you could use Valentine’s Day to cleanse yourself of all your past relationships.
Have his old sweatshirt that you’re dying to get rid of? Do her love notes give you a case of the blues? Grab a couple friends, start a bonfire, and burn all your exes’ stuff together! Hopefully, it’ll give you some sort of closure.
But perhaps keep a fire extinguisher nearby, okay? Safety first!
Take Yourself Out On A Date
One plus of being single? Take all the money you would’ve spent on a fancy date and spoil yourself!
Personally, we recommend a spa day. After a facial and some time in the sauna, your skin will be positively glowing, which may catch the eye of someone special!
