Another week is here folks and a lot more songs to cover for Booker’s “Sample This“.

So far we have talked about J.Cole, Drake, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, & Flo-Rida who all have sample someone’s original  music and used it for their own success.

I guess I could go back and talk about who sampled what but I really really hate to repeat myself so do yourself a favor and go back  to weeks one through five and learn something for a change.

And while you are doing that I will be moving on to this weeks feature which is Big Sean and his new single “Dance” featuring Nicki Minaj.

Dance” is the third single released from Big Sean’s debut album Finally Famous.”

The track is sampled from MC Hammer’s 1990 mega hit “U Can’t Touch This” which was the signature song for his 1990’s album “Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt Em“. This song helped sell more than 10 million copies and gained multi-platinum certifications.

The song was so big  the lyrics ” Hammer time” and “U Can’t Touch This” became regular pop culture references. If you listen closely to Big Sean’s “Dance” single you will hear him say “Hammer time” on several occasions.

Dance currently sits at #14 on Hot 100 and #7 on R&B/HipHop charts.  Big Sean has planned a tour with Trey Songz titled “Anticipation Tour” which will kickoff in Cleveland on Febuary 9th. The tour is expected to hit Los Angeles Staples Center on Febuary 17 at Nokia Theatre so word to the wise get your tickets ASAP!
