[photogallerylink id=146863 align=right]It’s Fashion Week everywhere and we are used to seeing Nicki Minaj mingle with the who’s who of the fashion crowd, but this year she say’s she’s over the “in” crowd and more into the actual fashion, so the Fashion Week buzz is not what she’s about this time around.
“I’m not impressed to be in that world. I’m in my own world. I think sometimes the fashion world isn’t even about clothes anymore; it’s about this “in” crowd, and I’m not into that,” she told New York Magazine (of which she also graces the cover.).
But just because the Head Barb isn’t into the scene doesn’t mean she still doesn’t look up to it’s idols, which includes Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. Nicki shared a cute story about the two sitting side by side at last year’s Fashion events. “I got an autographed photo from her the next day that said, ‘We match!’ I had on these, like, weird balls and craziness, and she had on this really sophisticated dress, but they both were orange. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m getting this framed!'”
As for Nicki’s own fashion sense, she recalled being a “weird little girl” that did her own hair, tweaking it for year’s until she perfected it. “I like the idea of doing something that everyone else is not. I get high off that,” Nicki added. “Just the idea that other people don’t have the balls to do something-that’s my thing.”
Well we are into your thing, Nicki, so keep that up!

Taylor Gang General, Wiz Khalifa addressed his fans on his Tumblr the other day being very honest and appreciative to his fans for his continued success since he “first came onto the scene.” To no one’s surprise, Wiz was high…on life as he wrote to his followers on the social networking site.
[photogallerylink id=135642 align=right]Overall he admitted that though his debut album Rolling Papers was commercially successful (certified Gold), it wasn’t his best work or what his fans had come to expect from him. But his next album O.N.I.F.C. won’t disappoint!
Moving on to the music,“ he wrote ,”I haven’t been this excited about any of my projects ever. I remember when i made kush and orange juice, I listened to it and knew I had created a new genre that wld change music. The mistake i made on Rolling Papers was thinking it was time to move on from that genre not knowing that it had impacted people so much. The album did great numbers, but creatively wasn’t my best work.“
Young Khalifa also announced that this album may not be for the masses but offers insight into his world. He also talks about dropping a new mixtape, plans to release videos for the new music and a fashion line.
“Either way we’re inviting mu fuggas deep into our world and I can’t wait. I got new visuals, a new clothing line, and the new show is gonna be amazing. This is for us. Taylor Gang Or Die. -O.N.I.F.C”
Looks like an exciting year is ahead of Wiz Khalifa. You can check him out in So Cal at the Smoke Out Festival in San Bernardino, ’cause you know the boy is always on tour! AMP maybe has tickets…but you have to LISTEN to find out!

The latest book craze is the new Suzanne Collins series “The Hunger Games.” The imaginative book has captured the nation and the upcoming film is the icing on the cake of this “Need to Read” fever. With a bunch of well known and not so well known faces from the Hollywood stables in the picture, it’s hard to know just how well it will do at the box office. But the soundtrack just looks to be a win from every angle.
[photogallerylink id=130770 align=left]Clearly infusing real themes and motifs from the book’s story, the songs are called things like “The Ruler and The Killer,” the track by Cudi, or “The Daughter’s Lament” or “Just A Game.”
As for Maroon 5, their song “Come Away” was a last minute addition to the soundtrack and should blend nicely to the album, which also features [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Arcade Fire[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Decemberists[/lastfm] and folk artist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neko Case[/lastfm]. Taylor Swift has a sincere role on the soundtrack, providing the first two tracks to the movie soundtrack and a music video for the deluxe edition.
We at AMP have been book clubbing it up in preparation for our venture into District 12 and The Hunger Games. This soundtrack is just what the doctor ordered. We can’t wait!
