The latest book craze is the new Suzanne Collins series “The Hunger Games.” The imaginative book has captured the nation and the upcoming film is the icing on the cake of this “Need to Read” fever. With a bunch of well known and not so well known faces from the Hollywood stables in the picture, it’s hard to know just how well it will do at the box office. But the soundtrack just looks to be a win from every angle.
[photogallerylink id=130770 align=left]Clearly infusing real themes and motifs from the book’s story, the songs are called things like “The Ruler and The Killer,” the track by Cudi, or “The Daughter’s Lament” or “Just A Game.”
As for Maroon 5, their song “Come Away” was a last minute addition to the soundtrack and should blend nicely to the album, which also features [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Arcade Fire[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Decemberists[/lastfm] and folk artist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neko Case[/lastfm]. Taylor Swift has a sincere role on the soundtrack, providing the first two tracks to the movie soundtrack and a music video for the deluxe edition.
We at AMP have been book clubbing it up in preparation for our venture into District 12 and The Hunger Games. This soundtrack is just what the doctor ordered. We can’t wait!
