Anyway, the truck visiting us today is a perfect fit because they specialize in gastropub cuisine, which is basically fancy speak for delicious gourmet bar food.
So crack open a cold one (if you’re of age, of course) and find out all about Gastrobus!
Antonio, who originally hails from Ecuador, opened up Gastrobus back in 2008 as a way to spend more time with his wife.
Taking a look at their menu, you’ll find a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and sides made with only the freshest of ingredients.
Antonio and the Gastrobus crew are passionate about maintaining a 100% locally grown kitchen.
In fact, every Sunday, Gastrobus sets up shop at the Los Feliz farmers market. They buy their supplies right then and there and they improvise that day’s menu on the spot based on the stuff that’s in season.
They describe their food as roadside bistro and we couldn’t agree more. Gastrobus takes simple concepts like a pulled pork sandwich and adds spices and herbs to elevate the flavor profile.
Antonio’s no stranger to the culinary culture. He’s been working in LA as a chef for more than 7 years and started out at one of Wolfgang Puck’s restaurants on the Westside.
Gastrobus has been so successful, they were able to open a brick and mortar restaurant in Los Feliz called Gastronomico. It’s basically the same idea as the truck with even more entrees to choose from!
But let’s get to our favorite part about Food Truck Friday…the free lunch! Every week, Carson rewards one of our loyal listeners with a free meal from our featured truck of the week. But that’s not all, they also get enough grub to feed their entire office!
Congrats to today’s lucky caller! If you didn’t win today, no worries, you’ll have another shot next Friday.
