Well, the blind audition portion of The Voice is officially dunzo and they ended things with a bang!
Carson gave us the scoop yesterday that Christina Aguilera was set to perform a surprise duet with her new teammate Sera Hill, but that’s not all.
The Twittersphere was buzzing about controversial contestant Cameron Novack and a hilarious moment between Carson and one of the singer’s mothers!
At the beginning of the episode Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton each had 2 more slots to fill on their team. The pressure was on and they were getting picky.
Whitney Myer – “No One”
The show started things off on a high note with Whitney Myer, who got all 4 coaches to turn around with her rendition of Alicia Keys“No One.”
Cameron Novack – “You Oughta Know”
Cameron Novack ruffled some feathers last night for his over-the-top personality and his huge voice, but unfortunately, none of the coaches decided to add him to their teams.
When he wrapped up his blind audition, the coaches immediately regretted their decision, but rules are rules, so Cameron was sent packing.
Adley Stump – “Last Name”
Don’t get us wrong, we loved country cutie Adley Stump, but her mom stole the show when she leaped onto our own Carson Daly and straddled him in front of the cameras in celebration!
Check out the unforgettable moment at around 1:30 into the video:
Sera Hill – “I’m Going Down”
At this point, all the contestants had completed their blind audition, but Christina still had to fill one more spot on her team.
They let a few of the favorites who didn’t get through the first time perform again and Xtina was extremely picky.
Her persistence paid off when she heard Sera Hill who brought down the house with a [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Mary J. Blige[/lastfm] cover. Her performance was so moving, Christina couldn’t help but join in for an incredible duet!
Listen to the rest of what Carson had to share about last night’s episode, including auditions from Wade, Orlando Napier, and Lex Lam!
So now it’s onto the battle rounds, where the contestants will fight for their spot on each coach’s final team of 6.
