It’s Tuesday, and we’re back to finding songs that we play on AMP that have been sampled from a different song. We have yet to talk about first lady of Young Money who continues to have top charting singles. Any guesses on who this might be?? Of course you do, it’s no other than Nicki Minaj who is this weeks feature and her single “Moment For Life” is the song we’ve chosen.

“Moment for Life” was sampled from Slick, Sly and Wicked 1972 record “Confessin A Feelin” which didn’t find commercial success in the pop culture world, but it was heard by producer T-minus who used some of the track to create Nicki Minaj ‘s single “Moment for Life.

Slick, Sly and Wicked is a Cleveland blues band who is signed to the late great soul singer James Brown ‘s label. They even wrote some of his hit singles.

The band has been inducted into the Motown Alumni Association Hall of Fame and continues to tour the world.

Nicki Minaj is currently preparing for her second studio album Roman Reloaded which is expected to hit the shelves April of this year. The album features a star studded line up including David Guetta, Lil Wayne and more that has yet to be announced.
