Kareem “Biggs” Burke, a former partner in Jay-Z‘s Roc-A-Fella records who was arrested for marijuana trafficking, pleaded guilty to the charge Thursday (March 16).

According to the New York Daily News, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bhararathe said the 38 year-old Burke will hand over cash, his house and car in exchange for a prison term of up to five years. He was convicted for conspiring to distribute more than 100 kilos of marijuana.

Burke was a silent partner in Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella record label, along with Jay-Z and Damon Dash. The relationship fell apart in 2004. Two years later, Jay-Z took the job as President of Def Jam, which had bought out Dash’s interest in Roc-A-Fella. While Burke mostly remained silent about his role and the company’s split, Dame Dash and Jay-Z ‘s feud played out publicly, with Dash blaming former Def Jam honcho Lyor Cohn and others for meddling.

In 2010, just six years after the dissolution of the groundbreaking record label he helped found, Burke was arrested as part of a federal sting called “Operation Green Venom,” which went after high level marijuana dealers. His sentencing takes place on May 18.
