Nicki Minaj Says She Wasn’t Having Fun on First Album-

The Head Barb in Charge is over the drama and worrying. She says she is too busy having fun to worry about what other people think. She looks at her success as a positive in that it has opened doors for other girls to get into the game.

“I don’t worry about that stuff as much as you guys worry about it. I’m having fun. For my first album, I wasn’t really having fun. I was still figuring myself out as an artist, I was too busy caring about what critics thought. Now, I’m actually enjoying myself,” Nicki affirmed before offering a warning to anyone who wanted to keep talking.

“So in terms of the girls, I said before, when a door opens for me, that means you just got another opportunity to do you…in order for my theory to prove right, these girls have to come in the game and now get deals because of Nicki Minaj. I said this would happen. If these girls don’t like me, that’s fine. But watch your mouth.”

Nicki Minaj is a true superstar. She is at peace with her work and is clearly over the heaters. Hard not to respect that! Her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded came out yesterday. Her electro dance single “Starships” is on there too. So check it out.

Scooped from Hip Hop DX.

Christina Aguilera Promises “Amazing” New Album-

X-tina has come into her own on America’s new favorite singing competition “The Voice.” In fact, she admits that it has taken up much of her time. Still she is promising to deliver the goods on her newest album.

As reported by MTV, Aguilera sat down with her show’s social media correspondent, Christina Milian, about the new work. She explained how the show shifted from being a side project to her main focus due to its success. “Well, I started [it] whenever I started this show, and then [the show] kind of took off into this big thing. So the show used to be a side project [and it] kind of turned into a bigger time-fulfilling, dedicated project for me.”

Apparently the “Genie in a Bottle” singer still has some tricks up her sleeve because she’s organized her time a little better and is back to focusing on the album. “I’ve been in the studio, hard at work,” she told the other Christina. “Different producers I’m working with have just excited me so much and have given me amazing tracks and beats and material I’ve been writing to and [with] writing partners.”

It’s no surprise that she’s most excited to share the new music with her fans. “It’s just filled with fun and excitement, and it’s gonna come out later this year, and I’m very, very excited to share it with my fans, finally,” she said.

But the most interesting aspect of this album is the unexpected influence from her role on the voice. “I went into this show, looking to have a great time, a laugh with the boys, and put my heart and soul into coaching amazing, raw talent and real vocalists,” Aguilera said. “At the end of the day, it is nice that it’s going to surface in my own music and on my own albums.”

What a crazy turn of events!

Afrojack Working With Shakira-

Ever since Afrojack started taking over control he has been bombarded with requests from big name artists to collaborate with him. Sometimes, it’s just a big name (ahem: Paris Hilton), but still Afrojack produces good music and a beat from him has the potential to put you over the edge. He showed his chops on Pitbull’s smash “Give Me Everything.” So which other Latin superstar has enlisted his talents?

No lying hips over here! None other than Shakira, Shakira!

Sitting down with a Billboard correspondent after a heavy night of partying with the likes of David Guetta and Steve Aoki at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Afrojack spoke on his time in the studio with the “Shewolf” singer.

“I’ve been in the studio now a couple times with Shakira,” he said “She’s really nice and that’s why we started working together. She has a unique voice and really loves the new dance thing. Like when a beat drops, she makes this like… face. She’s feeling it.”

As for what the new music is for, Afrojack-born Nick van de Wall- didn’t want to assume too much into the nature of the project but agreed it would likely be apart of Shakira’s newest album.  “I never want to put a name tag on something. I wanna just see what happens, but probably. We’ll see,” he said.

Oh yeah, it’s going to be on that album. And we cannot wait to hear it! Release date, please!
