Some of us grew up listening to the iconic band TLC.

Some of you may be too young to remember the girl group that took the world by storm all throughout the 90’s.

Made up of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, TLC was one of the most influential rap/r&b, soul hybrid bands of their time, filling their music with messages that were both outrageous and very serious at the same time.

Not afraid to broach the topic of safe sex, love, sexuality, and more, the band was everywhere during their over 10 year span of incredible music success winning multiple Grammy awards amongst other musical accolades during that time.

It was devastating to all of their fans the day it was announced that we had lost one of their beloved members, Left Eye, in a car crash while she was filming a documentary Honduras. Unfortunately, at the time, the band was on a break after their last album, FanMail.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the loss of Left Eye, so we wanted to take a minute to look back on some of our favorite TLC tracks. We hope it sparks some great memories for those of you who grew up listening to the band, and introduces you to some new music if you haven’t spent time listening to them before.

In no particular order…

Creep, a #1 song off of their album CrazySexyCool. If you don’t own this album, you really should.

————

Waterfalls, also a #1 track from CrazySexyCool and considered the most successful track of the band’s career.

————-

No Scrubs, TLC’s 3rd #1 single.

————-

Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, off of their album Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip, with Left Eye’s iconic condom glasses.

—————

What About Your Friends, also off of Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip which reached quadruple platinum status within a year of being released.

———-

It was also announced today that TLC will be reuniting for a tour, with rumors floating that they will in fact go the Tupac hologram route bringing Left Eye back to perform.
