Wiz Khalifa Calls Diddy His Inspiration to Be A Rapper-
Everyone that knows anything about Wiz Khalifa realizes that he has a special kinship with fellow rapper, Snoop Dogg. But when asked Wiz credits someone else with inspiring him to become a rapper.
According to The Boombox, Wiz gave the most honest answer when asked about his rap inspiration. “For real, for real: Puff Daddy [Diddy] — that’s who made me want to become a rapper,” Wiz says in the video questionnaire. “He just looked like a rapper to me when I seen him on TV,” Wiz continued.
“I always heard Snoop, and I loved Snoop’s music, but when I saw Puffy on TV, he was just doing his thing,” added the Taylor Gang captain. “I was like, ‘Man, I could do that.'”
The interviewer, inquired further, noting that Wiz sounds nothing like his TV-rap idol, Diddy or his subsequent Bad Boy artists. Khalifa simply responded that he was referring more to their personality than music. “We got the same spirit, the same soul,” he said. “Kind of flamboyant, kind of savage.”
Well, Young Khalifa, get your money and label right. That’s how you become Diddy.
Remember that time Diddy topped Jay-Z for the richest in rap, two years in a row? Call that Diddy swag!
Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga Join Cast of MiB3-
Men in Black 3 is the third film of the alien fighting series but this installment seems to be all about the music. After recruiting dance rap superstar, Pitbull to record the third film’s lead single, director, Barry Sonnenfeld has revealed even more AMP artists will be apart of the upcoming film.
Notably, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga will have cameos in the upcoming comedy film, which stars originals Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. The pop superstars will both be playing aliens but it is still unclear if they will be fighting for or against the universe.
Much in the same way Michael Jackson famously played Agent M in the second installment, Gaga and Bieber will make their mark on the franchise.
Something tells us that it won’t be hard to believe Gaga or even Bieber as actual aliens. Still not sure if that is a good or bad thing. But it is notable!
Pitbull Using Will Smith as Crossover Blueprint-
Will Smith is the prototype for crossover success. He’s been all up and through the entertainment industry and has been a master at making his own lane in every aspect of it. For example, he started out rapping at 17, got his deal, made the hit “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” He was able to parlay that into a whole TV series (a la “Fresh Prince of Bel-air), which was on TV for 6 whole seasons and is still syndicated worldwide. You could sing the intro and people most anywhere would jump in to help you finish. From there he took on film where he eventually became the most bankable movie star topping the likes of Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
If we were Pitbull, we would follow Will’s work closely too!
And that is exactly what the Miami rapper plans to do. Pitbull sat down at the Billboard Latin Music Conference where he talked about his role on the new Men in Black soundtrack as well as his future aspirations to go where Will has already been.
“It’s an honor, it’s a blessing. More than a movie, it’s a business, it’s a franchise,” Pitbull told Billboard about being apart of “Men in Black 3” . “So to be able to study what they’ve got going on… I was down in Cancun for the upfront, with Will (Smith), Josh (Brolin), with Tommy (Lee Jones) being an amazing actor. I’m not only studying the franchise, I’m also studying Will,” he said.
He then calls Smith the “blueprint of being someone who went from music to movies, and movies to being an entrepreneur,” which is certainly commendable.
Currently, Pit’s song for the movie is racing up the charts. And we get it, with a hip old school sample, he takes us “Back in Time” just in time for the film’s release. You can check out MiB3 when it comes out on May 25th.
