It’s been a couple months since we last caught up with Christina Milian and since we’re less than a week away from the finale of The Voice, Carson figured it was time to talk shop with his fellow co-worker.
Milian got her start as a pop singer with hits like “AM to PM” and “Dip It Low,” but she took on a new role this year as the social media correspondent for the hit singing competition show.
Her new gig isn’t just strictly business. She’s built up a rapport with each of the contestants throughout this season, learning about both their triumphs and their struggles.
“I’ve never been so involved emotionally with a TV show,” Christina told Carson Daly this morning. “Especially when it comes to talent-type shows and stuff like that, so it’s amazing to see how far these artists have come and hanging out with them and kind of getting to know their story back there. I’m having a good time.”
Tonight, The Voice will cut 4 more contestants from the competition, but Christina isn’t worried, “It’s going to be crazy to let them go…but at the same time I’m like, ‘Okay, all of them are going to be okay because these people, they’ve been kicking ass!'”
Only one singer from each team will move on to the final round and Milian shared who she thinks has the edge following last night’s episode. “Last night, Juliet, Tony Lucca, I loved his entrance when he first came in. I thought it was awesome. Juliet, she really killed it with that performance in the end too.”
In the lead up to next week’s big show, Christina is taking the finalists on a little field trip. On Thursday at 10:30 am, the top 4 finalists will be performing at Universal CityWalk’s 5 Towers stage. The first 300 guests will receive a free t-shirt and a meet and greet with the contestants! It’s free, but she recommends that you arrive early because the space will fill up quickly. For more information, click here.
Carson couldn’t let her hang up the phone without asking about her highly-anticipated fourth album. Milian signed with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment a few months ago and has been hard at work in the recording studio ever since. “It’s going good! It’s going good! Once we have the finale next week, I’ll be in the studio big time.”
