J. Lo Announces Tour with Enrique Iglesias-
As AMP has previously reported, Jennifer Lopez is months away from embarking on her largest tour to date, which will also include international superstar, Enrique Iglesias. Up until yesterday, J. Lo hadn’t officially announced the tour and thus, we had a total of ZERO tour dates. Thankfully, that has all just changed.
She starts off her reported 60-date, 4 Continent trek in Montreal, then Toronto before heading into the North east region of the U.S. She will reach the best-sorry, West Coast in August where she has three-dates in California.
According to prior reports the tour was originally supposed to end in the United States. Also the prior source reported 60 worldwide dates. So far only the first 13 dates have been revealed. Tickets go on sale May 4th.
The singer is also still planning on releasing an album this year under her label, EPIC.
And on a related note, J. Lo is launching an interactive website that will give registered users plenty of backstage access to her upcoming tour. The idea is to show all the work that goes into a big show like the one J. Lo is about to embark on. Check out the new JenniferLopez.com.
Show dates below:
August 11 – Anaheim, CA – Honda Center
August 16 – Los Angeles, CA – Staples Center
Lil Wayne Settles “Lollipop” Suit Out of Court-
Remember that catchy song “Lollipop” that made Lil Wayne a household name and helped him sell millions of copies of his album Tha Carter 3?
Well, Lil Wayne made upwards of $70 Million from that one album but there was one little problem: Producer, Darius Harrison, a.k.a. Deezle, sued Weezy citing that he produced several tracks on the album, including the smash hit “Lollipop,” but had failed to be paid for any of his work by Wayne and camp.
The original suit listed $20 Million in damages and owed fees. As of now, TMZ reports the case has been settled out of court. Unfortunately, they did not disclose the terms under which the lawsuit was settled. But it is over!
We are sure Lil Tunechi is drinking a cold Mountain Dew to recover from this one.
50 Cent Revealed His Album Release Date-
After so much love lost between Interscope records and their biggest bad boy, 50 Cent, we are even surprised to say that finally his fifth album will be getting an official release date. It’s also just in time to celebrate Fif’s birthday!
Late in March, the Shady Records rapper tweeted his good news to the world: “My album is coming out july 2. I got some heat trust me I’m ready,” he wrote. Then he followed up with an even better coincidence. “My birthdays july 6 so that’s a cool date for ME,” he tweeted. “Its gonna be july2 album, july4 independence day, then july6 my birthday.”
He will be turning 37. Still no album title, though.
According to Fitty, this album has long been done. He was just waiting on the say so from his label to release it. There has been a lot of drama around this project. Lots of delays, tracks leaking on the internet and the never-ending beef between 50 and his label about when to release it.
Hopefully none of that will mar the rapper’s sound and we can all sing and dance to his new music a la “In the Club.” Let’s stay positive, people!
Go, shorty, it’s your birthday…
