I decided to take a minute after Coachella to do any sort of post about it because, well, the internet got a little hectic with news of the festival and needed a breather.

Now that we’ve recovered, I can tell you about a song performed there. EDM was featured pretty heavily this year with artists like Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia, Afrojack, Avicii, and my Playlist artist of this week Alesso.

Alesso is a Swedish DJ who also produces electronic dance music (EDM) like progressive house.

MTV recently named him one of the EDM artists to watch in 2012. Not a hard thing to do as hundreds watched him do his thing at the Coachella Sahara tent this year. He was named ‘Top Five Acts’ there by LA Weekly.

Matthew Koma, who’s an amazing artist by himself, jumps on this track to add soul to it… not to mention lyrics that match the nostalgic vibe of “Years” really well.

There’s a version without a singer and on occasion EDM songs can stand alone without vocals, but personally I prefer it. Especially when the vocalist is as good as Matthew Koma.
