Adele Gears Up for Concert Special-
We can all agree that Adele has been gone for too long. But the UK songstress needed the well deserved rest. After a bout with a strained throat, surgery, and selling millions of records in record time, all while still trying to remain shy and anonymous have proved difficult for the starlet, but it seems she’s just starting to get comfortable in the limelight.
Adele sat down with NBC’s Matt Lauer for an hour long special, scheduled to air in early June. They talked about everything from the number of spanx Adele wore at the Grammy Awards (four), her new celebrity friends, and that time she walked through “toursit central” in London and had to wear color and pajamas so no one noticed her (it worked!).
Billboard reports that also in the special, “Adele Live in London with Matt Lauer,” she showcases some of the performances from her live DVD, “Adele Live at Royal Albert Hall.” This looks to be a great interview where Adele gets to be herself and say what she wants. We look forward to it!
The special airs on June 5th on NBC at 8 PM.
Beyonce Faces Trial Over Botched Dance Game-
Last year we reported that Gate Five, a video game development company, had sued R&B singer Beyonce for $100 Million dollars because she reportedly dropped the ball on a dance game that the two parties were working on releasing together.
Originally, she and her lawyers attempted to get the case thrown out, but back in April 2011 a judge sided with the plaintiffs, allowing Gate Five to continue on with their lawsuit.
The latest update is more bad news for Beyonce. A judge again sided with Gate Five and the case has been granted it’s fair shot in the court of law.
Gate Five claims Bey “abruptly abandoned” the project without fair notice to the company. Beyonce and her lawyers assert that the Houston native had every right to back out of the deal because Gate Five did not have it’s finances in place at the time of her deal.
But Gate Five continues to claim that Beyonce knew they were signing a deal with their financier on Dec. 10th, 2010, three days after Beyonce walked away from the deal. The way the New York Post tells it, the judge sided with Gate Five, saying Beyonce should have given them more notice.
This will likely see it’s day in court, Beyonce doesn’t look to be backing down just yet.
The game that started this whole thing in the first place was a dance game called “Starpower: Beyonce.” Were you going to play that anyway?
Lil Wayne Calls Kobe Bryant an “Inspiration”-
Kobe and the Lakers have faced some hard times this season, but the Los Angeles basketball team has just made it to the second round of the playoffs and are about to face off with rivals the Oklahoma City Thunder.
While Lil Wayne loves his adopted hometown, Miami, and is a dedicated Heat fan, he has much love for the Lakers main man, Kobe Bryant. In fact, Weezy likes to stay in close proximity to winners, regardless of team or sport. With Kobe, though, it’s more about what he has taught Wayne, than just winning.
Talking to the L.A. Times, Weezy told the paper what Kobe showed him. “He’s inspired not only songs, but he’s inspired me in life in general just the way he attacks things, the way he never backs down, the way he fights through injury,” he said. “Not only do he fight through injury, and not only do he play through injury, he excel through injury. I take those type of things and I just apply them to my everyday life.”
He continued to call Bryant “the greatest player to touch a basketball,” but when asked about his greatest musical inspiration, Lil Tunechi got honest and replied, “My musical inspiration is my kids.”
We like how you are thinking Lil Wayne, we like it a lot!
