Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifa And More Jam Pack Rock The Bells Lineup-
Ladies and Gentleman. Get excited! Rock the Bells has just announced the lineup for the 2012 tour and it is a doozy!
Back for the first time are Timbaland and Missy Elliot who are named headliners and will be doing a joint set. The top billing also lists Kid Cudi, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, and Lupe Fiasco as performers.
Upon release of the concert poster, Lupe denied his involvement in the music festival via twitter.
Though missing out on Lupe is a definite loss, the people still performing make up for the bad news. Hip Hop’s old and new will be out in full force for the music event being held at San Bernardino’s NOS Event Center. From Ice Cube and E-40 to newcomers like A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar, expect a jam packed show.
Tickets go on sale May 19th and with a lineup this heavy, plan on them going fast!
Additionally, this Festival will be making it’s way across the country. There will be two shows in California. One at NOS in San Bernadino (Aug. 18-Aug. 19) and one at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, Calif. (Aug. 25-Aug. 26). From there, the festival takes a trek across the country to be held in the PNC Bank Arts Center in Homdel, New Jersey (Sept. 1-Sept.2).
Some reports say there will be a fourth tour date featuring performers from this year’s show as well as previous festivals. That show will take place in Miami in December and is being done in conjunction with Hip Hop and Hope for Haiti, an organization dedicated to providing relief aid to the disaster-stricken island nation. According the the website “all proceeds will be donated to Hip Hop and Hope for Haiti.”
Nicki Minaj to Release Chris Brown Assisted Video TODAY-
AMP has unveiled a lot of new music in the last few weeks. And one of the hotttest new tracks on AMP is Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown‘s song “Right By My Side.” The R&B infused song features Nicki singing her heart out about a man that has stolen her heart. “I, I’m not living right/I’m not living if you’re not by my side,” she croons.
Chris Brown takes the second verse, asking her Minajesty if she has the time to get away with him. She does.
Nicki’s second verse goes a little harder, but she’s still clearly feeling the dude. The other girls, though, they might want to take a few steps back. “Wait, oh, let me see your phone/cause all them b**ches is ratchet/And now let me get in my truck/Cause all them b**ches’ll catch it” she rhymes.
Days ago the Queens rapper released some stills of the new video. Fellow New Yorker and rapper, Nas appears to be her love interest in the video. You can see the two sharing a romantic moment right here. Chris Brown is reportedly also appearing in the video.
The video debuts today on Vevo. As soon as it’s up. AMP will have you locked in on the smooth new wideo from Nicki Minaj. Her latest video release “Starships” had some false starts but after Nicki and Vevo talked it out, all was well.
We hope there is way less drama around this one.
T.I. Gives ‘Trouble Man’ Album Release Date-
T.I. made a stop in New York recently where he revealed the long awaited date for his latest, and first post-poky album release. The Atlanta rapper has been dropping tracks from the new album Trouble Man since late September of 2011. Mind you, he was released from the penitentiary on August 31st. That’s a lot of hustle from the Grand Hustle captain and we expect no less.
But all of the single releases and mixtapes in the meantime have culminated in the release of this, his eighth studio album. Summer will just be winding down when Tip releases his album. He has scheduled a September 4th album release date. “Look forward to those summertime anthems that we’ve grown to love about T.I.,” he previously said to Fuse about the project.
The follow-up to his 2010 release, No Mercy, has already spawned the single “Like That” and “Love This Life.” When the Kang sat down with AMP Radio’s Michelle last October he said he was working with everyone from B.o.B, obviously, to Pharrell to Young Jeezy and Akon. He had even sent out a track to Andre 3000 in hopes that he would get on board. So we are expecting a whole lot of collaboration on this new album.
Make sure you cookouts can handle the Kang! He’s-a-coming!
