For this Flashback Friday you’ll need a cap and gown to cover up your flannel shirt and fanny pack.
We’re headed back to that day your parents bombarded you with photos, that one dude who streaked across stage, that one student who gave a super long speech and all you cold think about was the after party!!!
Woohoo P-A-R-T-Y we did it, it’s Graduation Day.
Time to grab some tissues, this could get emotional…it’s all about the memories man.
Vitamin C (no not the stuff found in your O.J) a singer/ songwriter with bright orange hair that had a hit song back in 2000, “Graduation (Friends Forever).”
I honestly can still hear the chorus in my head, it won’t freakin’ leave! I’m just warning you, it’s very catchy.
The next song you will definitely need a tissue box for. Some of you may know Green Day from that one musical (American Idiot), but they actually are a band.
Yeah, been around for years now. Back in 1997 when you were playing Golden Eye 007 (BEST GAME EVER!!!) on N64, Green Day released “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).”
Before this song was at the end of every TV season finales it was played at many Graduations.
For this next song I asked my crazy party neighbors what their Graduation song was.
After they turned down the music I could hear whispering, then a couple of giggles and then they turned the music back on. I said, “Seriously its for a blog, what was your Graduation song?”
The music was lowered once again, more whispering and finally one of the girls shouted, “That night song from Eve 6!”
“Thank you ladies,” they were talking about 2001’s “Here’s To The Night” by Eve 6.
I just got off the phone with my Mom, we we’re talking about songs of her Graduation year, 1969.
She listed a ton of different songs from 69’ that she remembers from the Graduation after party, but we narrowed it down to one.
Lastly, twitter follower @ThePensky who Graduated in 2006 in Orinda, CA says, “We all choked up during Chasing Cars, me the most. I remember it like it was yesterday. Go class of 2006!!!”
Congrats to the Class of 2012!
