Topless Summer might have you racking your brain for places to drive your new Fiat, and we’ve got some ideas. Instead of shivering in a cold, dark movie theater eating stale popcorn this summer, head outdoors! There are still a few drive ins around town that would be perfect to roll into in your brand new Fiat! Plus, you won’t have to deal with sticky floors and box office lines!

Vineland Drive-In

The Vineland is one of the few drive-ins left in Southern California. Can you believe that there used to be more than 35 drive-in movie theaters in the LA area alone? We miss those days. This drive-in plays new releases and is pretty reasonably priced compared to typical movie theaters.

Mission Tiki Drive-in Theatre

Mission Tiki is just awesome. It’s a little bit of trek to get out there for some of us, but we think it’s definitely worth the drive. This tiki themed drive in plays new releases and screens classic films. The classic film nights have vintage prices as well: only $1 per car load!

10798 Ramona Avenue
Montclair, CA

Cinespia at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Movie night? In a cemetery? Kinda creepy, but also kinda awesome!! It’s not a drive-in, but we still think it’s a good alternative to a musty old theater. Highlights of this summer’s series are: Lolita, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Labyrinth. Once you get past the fact that you’re chilling among (and sitting on top of) really dead famous people, we’re sure you’ll have a great time!

Los Angeles, CA

Devil’s Night Drive In

We almost hesitated including this gem in this list because we don’t want it to get overrun by crowds, but this is just between us, right? Shhh! This is a year round pop up drive in theater in the heart of downtown LA. We can’t believe it either. Get there early, buy tickets ahead, and BYOB. It really doesn’t get much better than that, right? Upcoming screenings are: Donnie Darko, Princess Bride, Pulp Fiction, and 16 Candles

240 W. 4th St. (at Broadway) – 2nd Floor
Downtown Los Angeles

Moonlight Movies on the Beach

If you prefer a seaside screening, head down to Long Beach for Movies on the Beach! This outdoor pop-up theater screens cult films and modern classics for FREE! Free parking, free screening, BYOB and food? Sign us up! We’re excited to see hunky Ryan Gosling in Drive on the big screen on August 6th! Other highlights of the season include The Goonies, Jaws, and King Kong.

Long Beach, CA 90803
