Usher Explains “Holding Back” in the Past-
Reuters recently spoke with Usher about his new album, Looking 4 Myself, which is out today! Throughout the process of making this album, the “Scream” singer has been focusing on growing as a person and artist and he explains that you can really hear that in his new album. In fact, he even feels that he used to have to hold back, but no more.
“It was damn near a rebirth. I felt open and creative because I didn’t have anything in my mind. At some point, after making music for a long time, you have to find very new creative and innovative ways to do what you love,” Usher, whose first album dropped 20 years ago, told reporters.
“I’ve felt restricted in a lot over the last several years and maybe it’s because I was holding myself back. Maybe I felt like I needed to conform to some specific standard. I got to the point where I said, ‘I gotta go with what I feel and hopefully people will follow me.'”
Today is the day of truth, but with his singles “Climax” and “Scream” already making their way up the charts, we thnk a good majority of people will continue to ride with URRSHER.
Katy Perry Gets Comic Book-
If you are looking for your next Super or Wonder Woman, look no further than the unofficial Katy Perry comic book. MTV has reveled that Bluewater Comics will release a comic about Katy Perry’s rise to fame from her humble beginnings as the daughter of Christian evangelists who knew nothing of pop music.
This isn’t the first time Bluewater relayed someone’s worthy biography via graphic novel. Both Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have been lucky enough to get inked. Unfortunately, neither Gaga or Bieber’s camps were excited about the comics and have since sent cease-and-desist letters to Bluewater for using their likeness and names without consent.
The comic company, however, released a statement asserting that they are well within their fist amendment rights to make these comics. “We are 100% within our First Amendment rights. We knew our rights on this before we jumped into the biography world. These are 100% biographies on their lives.”
Fact of the matter is, this comic seems to be the graphic novel version of Katy’s new concert documentary,”Part of Me,” so if you’d rather read about it, or just have your own pocket copy, look into these comics.
Diddy Closes “Justin’s” Restaurant in ATL-
“Justin’s” restaurant was originally thought to be closed only temporarily for renovations, according to the general manager Solomon Fornie but a spokesperson from Bad Boy recently made a statement confirming otherwise.
According to the statement, “Justin’s” was closed so that Bad Boy could pursue “other business ventures in music, television, fashion, fragrance and spirits,” but will continue to “actively exploring business opportunities in Atlanta.”
No word on the specifics of the other business ventures, but Diddy does have a new TV network coming out and that seems like a pretty expensive venture. Just saying.
Mostly we are sad because we hadn’t had the chance to go just yet. Next time we are in Atlanta, we should just hit up Ludacris‘s Asian fusion food, Straits or maybe his upcoming “Chicken & Beer” project in the airport.
Either way, “Justin’s” is out.
