Usher Hoping “Scream” Will be Song of the Summer-
We are sure you have heard Usher‘s hit single “Scream” by now, but get ready to hear it even more. The Max Martin produced hit, who has also doctored previous hits for Usher as well as Britney Spears and Katy Perry, was first released in late April and has made a steady climb up the Hot 100.
Usher told MTV that when working on this single, they thought of just about all the elements of a song; not just the music.
“It’s intended to be that, but I don’t think that was the only thing. We thought about live performance, we thought about mixing and matching and also giving people an energy that only [producer Max Martin] would be able to create,” Usher told MTV.
He wanted to make a song that not only connected to a lot of people but actually made them feel like dancing. Almost as if it were uncontrollable.
“If I’m gonna move you, I want to move you. I hope that it could be something that could be life-changing,” the singer said last month “You may be going through something real crazy, who knows, and just need to get out and just enjoy yourself. So I always think about the club, I always think about that song that will be able to let you out of that slump, if you’re in it.”
The second single from Usher’s seventh studio album, Looking 4 Myself, just got the video treatment. Check it out on AMPRadio.com.
Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake” Focuses on Her Journey-
Katy Perry‘s newest video for “Wide Awake” is set to debut tomorrow (Jun. 19) on MTV, Vevo, and other outlets. And while this song wasn’t originally included her record-breaking album, Teenage Dream, it is essential in explaining her journey, which is exactly what the video plans to tackle.
“I just wanted to tell a story about myself going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze. There’s good parts; there’s bad parts. Of course, there has been a lot of things that went on last year that I had to get through and overcome,” she said to reporters. “I think what probably kept me going is just the purity of my belief in music.”
And that purity of her belief shines through. How else can you explain an unprecedented six No.1 singles from one album? Perry has exhibited a lot of class and persistence this past year. It will be exciting to see in her new concert documentary “Part of Me: 3D.” Really this video seems more like a prequel to the bigger story.
We can’t wait!
Adam Levine Nabs Role in Musical Film-
For some of these musicians the transition to and from music to acting is as natural as knowing how to hit the right notes. After making his TV acting debut on the upcoming second season of the thriller “American Horror Story,” Adam Levine has already shown interest in more acting roles. This includes Glee and now he’s even scored a role in an upcoming musical.
The new film, “Can A Song Save Your Life?” stars Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley and will be directed by John Carney, who is most known for his low-budget feature “Once,” which was filmed using only two camcorders. Levine will be playing a supporting role and not much more is known about his role thus far.
Another notable fact about this upcoming film is that is a musical and something tells us that Adam won’t just be a figure-head. And if we had to guess, then we would have to say: Yes, a song, sung by Adam Levine, can indeed save your life.
